ABOUT DAVID

“Divorce isn’t such a tragedy. A tragedy is staying in an unhappy marriage, teaching your children the wrong things about love. Nobody ever died of divorce”
                                         —Jennifer Weiner

At David Kirsh Family Law and Mediation, we understand that moving forward through difficult family changes may cause pain, but it need not involve long-term suffering. Your divorce should not define your life.

Repeatedly selected by Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and the Leading Lawyer Network, David brings to his mediation and family law practice decades of expertise in creatively settling cases to save his clients the expense and anxiety of a trial. When a trial becomes necessary, David is a skillful and sage litigator. For example, with his former partner, David won the highest permanent maintenance award following a trial in Illinois history ($52,000 per month).

David is widely known for the humor, empathy, and perspective he brings to even the thorniest of disputes, earning the trust of his clients and the respect of judges and attorneys.
